There’s something uniquely joyful about gathering around a cajón table. Rather than sitting apart with separate instruments, players share a single surface—close enough for eye contact, spontaneous smiles, and the occasional look of surprise as new sounds are discovered across the table’s hidden tone chambers.
Over the years, I’ve built cajón tables from recycled library shelves to exotic hardwoods, often in collaboration with my longtime studio partner, Kirk Delman.
What I love most is watching rhythm become conversation—playful, responsive, and full of unexpected turns.
