Victoria Rosas

Victoria hails from the San Gabriel Valley and has been an artist since childhood. She comes from a musical lineage that celebrates her Mexican heritage. Starting with self-taught charcoal and oil pastels pieces, she has since explored a wide range of mediums, creating various eclectic and abstract art.

Her journey in the arts began at Plaza De La Raza, where she studied fine art, dance, theater, and music. Victoria quickly excelled and gained recognition, showcasing her work in galleries across Los Angeles. Often drawing inspiration from her Mexican heritage, her vibrant creations have appeared on music albums, posters, and merchandise, including work for Grammy Award-winning musician Cesar Rosas from Los Lobos, and LP3 and The Tragedy.
When she’s not creating art, Victoria enjoys gardening, cooking, attending concerts, and spending time with her dog.

Michael Kotzen - about this collaboration:

This pair of cajón drums marks my second collaboration with artist Victoria Rosas, a partnership I was thrilled to revisit. Our first project began serendipitously during a Los Lobos recording session, where I spotted her striking paintings in the studio—works her father proudly attributed to her. That chance encounter led to a pair of cajóns for a show I co-curated at the dA Center for the Arts in Pomona in 2017. Now, we’ve teamed up again, and her joyful personality shines through once more. Her vibrant palette and expressive designs transform these instruments into a dynamic fusion of sound and art, celebrating creativity and connection.
