This cajón is the result of an ongoing creative dialogue between myself and studio partner, Kirk Delman, whose creative vision shines with the Yellowheart inlays set into the Purpleheart and playfully reshaped Ebony slap pads. The playing surface, of book-matched quilted maple, evolved through iterations to deliver both visual harmony and deep, resonant sound. A hand-rubbed finish enhances the wood’s pure tones, free of stains or colorants. Integrated legs elevate the instrument, enabling playing from an external seat/ drum throne.
